Meet Tibor Helényi
As an artist creating applied art, Tibor Helényi has chosen an unusually hard and painstaking way of deisigning his posters and book/record covers. First, he paints the artwork very meticulously, with the point of the brush, using the traditional method, on canvas, normally in oil or acrylic, then he has a colour transparency made of the picture, and this will serve as the basis for the printing of the reproduction (or rather, self-reproduction) poster.
The most important features for Helényi is the superlative knowledge of drawing, linear and shade perspective, anatomy, and the tricks with a sophisticated perspective.
